First off, salmon fishing is FUN! The feel of a fish on the line, the pursuit, the thrill of the catch. … So, come and enjoy the thrill this season by taking a charter fishing trip this month. The April ocean salmon season opener will run from April 13 through April 30, 2019. The Bodega Bay harbor is gearing up for the big salmon season.
There is great optimism for the upcoming salmon season as Rick Powers of Bodega Bay Sport Fishing said:
“In 37 years of fishing through the winter out of Bodega, I have never observed the (state of this season)… The water is a perfect 53/54 degrees right now, and I saw a couple of sea lions thrashing salmon on the surface on a recent whale watching trip. Things are looking real good for the salmon opener.”
